FROM CREATIVE DIRECTOR PETER BISHOP

THE MACQUARIE GROUP FOUNDATION LONGLINES PROGRAM AND THE ARTS NSW LITLINK PROGRAM

ANNOUNCING THE LONGLINES DRAMA WORKSHOP

The Playlab LongLines Drama Workshop, from September 22-28, offers playwrights the opportunity to work at Varuna with 2 other playwrights and 2 - 3 dramaturgs. In 2007, this was an extraordinary week, with one playwright redrafting her play four times, the completed play being short-listed immediately for the Queensland Premier's Drama Awards. An extraordinary opportunity for playwrights!

Varuna and Playlab apologize that the selection process has taken longer than expected this year. Two playwrights have been awarded a LongLines Drama Workshop and the third person will be confirmed by Friday 25 July.

Sven Svenson (QLD) - Sven will be working with dramaturg Peter Matheson (NSW)
Tamara Whyte (QLD) - Tamara will be working with dramaturg Saffron Benner (QLD)
Third place - PENDING (to be confirmed by 25th July).
