PAYING RESIDENCIES

Vacancy: 15-22 September.

Varuna is occasionally available for residencies to paying guests. The residency offers peaceful writing accommodation with independent writing time and the opportunity to work within a community of writers.

As with all our writing residencies, paying guests are expected to work in a self-directed manner on a project. There is no pre-selection criteria. There is no mentorship or creative support offered other than that of informal contact with other resident writers.

Paying residencies are offered to both the general public and Varuna Alumni. Occasionally cancellations need to be filled at short notice. If your name is on our waiting list you will be notified.

We find paying guests are often interested in the Varuna Professional Development Writing Residencies.

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?

Our writing accommodation offers full bed and board and private working space in the special environment of Varuna for $790 per week. A non-refundable deposit of $395 is required to secure your booking.

HOW DO I BOOK FOR A PAYING RESIDENCY?

To request a paying residency and join the waiting list, download and complete the Paid Residency Request form here (PDF) or as a Word doc and return it by fax, email or post.

You will then be informed of any vacancies that arise.
