Amanda Niehaus

Amanda was a recipient of a 2017 Varuna Residential Fellowship to work on her first novel, Breeding Season. She's a scientist as well as a writer and weaves her experiences in the lab and field – as well as basic concepts in ecology, evolution, and physiology – into her fiction, nonfiction and poetry. Amanda was a 2016 mentee in the AWP Writer to Writer Mentorship Program and a finalist for the New Philosopher Writers' Prize (VI). Recent work appears or is forthcoming in AGNI, Noon Annual, Monkeybicycle, Creative Nonfiction and elsewhere. Amanda lives in Brisbane, QLD, and Phoenix, AZ.
