Tobias McCorkell is the author of forthcoming novel Everything in its Right Place (Transit Lounge, 2020) and Transgressive Fiction (1984–2017): Taboos, Sex and Style (ibidem Press, 2021), a theoretical book examining transgressive fiction writing in Australia, the US, Germany, France, and the UK.
Tobias’ fiction and non-fiction, which interrogates class, gender and generational divides in contemporary Western culture, has featured in Boundless, Departures in Critical Qualitative Research, and the Journal of Postcolonial Writing. The manuscript for his first novel, Barely Anything, was awarded the University of Melbourne/Affirm Press Prize for Creative Writing in 2015. In 2018, Tobias appeared at the Melbourne Emerging Writer’s Festival. He is the recipient of a 2019 Varuna Residency Fellowship.
