2026 Cove Park International Fellowship Announced
We are delighted to announce that the recipient of the Cove Park International Fellowship for this year is Anne-Marie Te Whiu. A Sydney- based freelance poet, editor, cultural producer and weaver, Anne-Marie’s central praxis focusses on artistic collaboration and platforming the sovereignty and amplification of Indigenous and POC artists. Anne-Marie has produced and curated festivals and events for over 20 years including the Queensland Poetry Festival which she co-directed from 2015-2017. Her writing has been published broadly in anthologies, journals, magazines and exhibitions across Australia and Aotearoa (New Zealand). Mettle is her debut poetry collection published with University of Queensland Press.
Anne-Marie will be be undertaking a four-week residency in Cove Park, Scotland from 1 October - 1 November, which includes presenting at Wigtown Book Festival. During her stay, she plans to work on her verse novel Paper Thin.

ABOUT ANNE-MARIE TE WHIU
Anne-Marie Te Whiu (Te Rarawa) is a Sydney-based freelance poet, editor, cultural producer and weaver. Her central praxis focusses on artistic collaboration and platforming the sovereignty and amplification of Indigenous and POC artists.
Anne-Marie has produced and curated festivals and events for over 20 years including the Queensland Poetry Festival which she co-directed from 2015-2017.
She has guest edited multiple poetry collections and journals including the Woven anthology, Whisper Songs by Tony Birch, Solid Air: Australia & NZ Spoken Word and most recently the Cordite Journal: 116 Remember alongside Palestinian scholar and writer Micaela Sahaar.
Anne-Marie’s writing has been published broadly in anthologies, journals, magazines and exhibitions across Australia and Aotearoa and she has been awarded several fellowships including the Creative Australia Individual Projects Fellowship, Neilma Sidney Travel Fund, The Next Chapter Fellowship as well as The Next Chapter Alumni Fellowship. Anne-Marie has been the recipient of multiple writers and artistic residencies including The Church Rawene Residency, Varuna Residential Fellowship, Bundanon Artist in Residence, Clothing Stores Artist Studio Carriageworks and the Unyoked Writers Residency.
In 2025 she completed a Master of Social Change Leadership at University of Melbourne. Mettle is her debut poetry collection published with University of Queensland Press.
